Hygiene
During your comprehensive hygiene appointment, you can expect the following:
- A thorough cleaning of all teeth
- Periodontal probing and charting
- Four bite-wing radiographs once a year and full-mouth radiographs every five years
- Evaluation for deep-cleaning with local anesthesia
- Oral cancer exam
- Review of home care instructions
- Topical fluoride application - if necessary
- Doctor's periodic examination
- Evaluation of need for use of high-strength fluoride toothpaste or mouth rinse
- Evaluation of tooth color and tooth whitening need
